# How to Use Market Intelligence Pricing
## Check where the market prices a vehicle and find units priced off the benchmark.
The **Pricing** tab shows where the dealer's prices sit against the market, first by segment and then vehicle by vehicle. Use **Price lookup** to check any vehicle in any market.

### How to Read the Pricing Summary
- **Priced off benchmark:** vehicles priced 10% or more above or below the benchmark for their exact trim, out of the dealer's total.
- **Priced to move:** the share of the lot that isn't off benchmark. Vehicles with too few comparable listings to judge count as priced to move.
- **Biggest markup:** the segment priced furthest above market.
- **Segments above market:** how many segments sit above the market. Both follow the grouping chosen in **By segment**.
The **Median price, 13 weeks** chart in the right-hand panel (under Price lookup, when no row is open) shows the dealer's median list price next to the market's, week by week. The Overview's **Price vs market** panel shows the same trend.
### How to Read Pricing by Segment
**By segment** compares the dealer's median list price to the market's. Group it by **Body style**, **Price tier**, **Condition**, **Make**, or **Model**. Each row shows how many units the dealer has and how many are in the market.
### How to Read Pricing Gaps
**Pricing gaps** lists each vehicle priced off the benchmark for its exact trim.
- **Band:** the price band the vehicle is measured in.
- **Price** and **MSRP:** the listed price and, for new vehicles, how it compares to MSRP.
- **Benchmark** and **Δ:** the market benchmark and how far the price sits from it.
- **Miles** and **Days:** mileage and days on lot.
- **Call:** a suggested price adjustment to review, not a price to set. Vehicles above the benchmark show **Reduce $X**, the difference between the price and the benchmark. Vehicles below it show **Room to raise**. For vehicles 40% or more above the benchmark, we check the dealer's own listing first. It shows **Custom build** if the listing describes an upfit or special build, **Within MSRP** if the price is within about 3% of MSRP, or a yellow **Reduce $X** if we can't tell why. Hover over it as a reminder to verify the listing before acting.
Use **All**, **Above**, or **Below** to filter the list, and **Columns** to choose what shows. The table loads 25 vehicles at a time. Click **Show 25 more** or **Show all** to see the rest.
### How the Benchmark Works
- A vehicle priced above the middle of the market for its exact trim is in the **Premium** band and is compared to the price where the top quarter of those listings starts.
- At or below the middle, it's in the **Budget** band and is compared to where the bottom quarter ends.
- The band is about the vehicle's price, not the type of car. The dealer's own listings are left out, and a vehicle needs at least 3 comparable listings to get a benchmark.
The benchmark uses the market chosen in **Compared to**, which is the competitor list unless you change it.
**Note:** Market Intelligence shows where prices sit. It does not change prices in the dealer's inventory feed.
### How to Use Price Lookup
1. Click **Price lookup** at the top right of any Market Intelligence tab.
2. Pick the **Year**, **Make**, and **Model**. Narrow by trim if you need to.
3. Set **Compared to** for the market you want to check. This also changes the comparison for the rest of Market Intelligence.
For Canadian dealers, prices are in Canadian dollars, as listed.
**Tip:** If a vehicle returns too little data, widen **Compared to**, for example from **Competitor list** to **DMA (local TV market)**, or **Statewide** for Canadian dealers.
