How to Convert an Offline Event Set to a Dataset in Meta

Work with support to seamlessly upgrade your Offline Event Set to a Dataset for accurate sales matchbacks and ad attribution.

Meta has transitioned from Offline Event Sets to Datasets, impacting how conversion data is attributed.

📣 If your Offline Event Set was not automatically converted, you must manually upgrade by March 2025 to continue accurately tracking offline sales (matchback data).

BuyerBridge support ensures:
✅ Seamless conversion of your Offline Event Set to a Dataset
✅ Proper assignment of your Dataset as a data source for inventory catalogs
✅ Correct setup of your new Dataset ID in BuyerBridge
✅ Prevention of attribution issues or data loss

🚨 Important: If this process is not completed, your Facebook ads may lose attribution tracking and sales matchbacks will not be reported correctly in the BuyerBridge app.

🚨 Next Steps: You now need to copy the new Dataset ID and share it with your PX to ensure seamless integration within the BuyerBridge app.

Part 2: Updating the Dataset in BuyerBridge

Once the conversion is complete, BuyerBridge support will handle the technical steps required to integrate your new Dataset properly.

BuyerBridge Support Will:

Swap out the Facebook Pixel ID in BuyerBridge with the new Dataset ID
✅Ensure the Dataset is assigned as a data source for your inventory catalog
✅Validate that the Dataset is receiving website events in Meta
✅Verify that your Facebook Pixel is wired up correctly for proper event tracking

🚨 BuyerBridge Users:

  • The following day, confirm in Meta that the new Dataset is receiving website events

Potential Issues & Considerations

Will My Facebook Ads Will Go Back Into Learning?

  • Since the audience data resets with a new Dataset, Meta may place your ads back into learning mode
  • You may see temporary fluctuations in ad performance as the algorithm optimizes with the new tracking setup

How to Minimize Impact:

  • Continue running ads as usual—Meta will adjust within a few days
  • Avoid making major campaign changes immediately after conversion
  • Monitor performance closely and reach out to your PX with concerns

If you’re unsure whether your Offline Event Set has been converted, BuyerBridge support is here to help!

By working together, we’ll ensure your offline sales matchbacks remain accurate and your Meta ads continue performing at their best! 🚀
