VINFlow 101: Starting Guide

Pick the VINs you want to push, build Product Sets fast, and stop ad platforms from spending most of your budget on only the “easy” vehicles.

What is VINFlow + Who It’s For

VINFlow is a VIN-level filtering tool built for running inventory ads. It helps you pick the exact vehicles (VINs) you want to promote and control how spend is applied.

With VINFlow, you create Product Sets right inside BuyerBridge and attach them to inventory Playbooks, so your budget supports the vehicles that need attention, and not just the easiest sellers.

VINFlow works across multiple advertising channels, including Google, Meta, Snapchat, TikTok, and Pinterest, so your team can keep the same inventory strategy no matter where you’re running ads.

What makes VINFlow unique

You can build Product Sets in two powerful ways:

  • Copy + paste individual VINs to target exact vehicles (perfect for manager specials or “push these today” lists)

  • Build Product Sets using Ads Performance filters like impressions, spend, clicks, CTR, leads, or views.
Then tighten it further with standard filters like SUVs/Trucks, New/Used/Certified, make/model, price, and more.

These Product Sets can then be attached to inventory Playbooks (ex: AIAs, VLAs) to launch faster and stay in control of spend.

Good to know: Product Sets auto-update as new vehicles enter your inventory and match your rules.

VINFlow helps you:
  • Filter inventory down to the VIN

  • Create reusable Product Sets for Playbooks

  • Apply VIN Spend Control so spend doesn’t pile onto only a few “easy” VINs

  • Focus budget on vehicles that typically get overlooked by platform algorithms

  • Launch consistent inventory strategies across Google, Meta, Snapchat, TikTok, and Pinterest

  • Show spend and results in a way that’s easier to explain to clients

Troubleshooting

Quick Start (5 min path to launch)

Want the fastest path to your first “win”? Do this:

  1. Open Product Sets in the app (under the Inventory tab)

  2. At the top of the page, select your advertising platform(s) (Google, Meta, Snapchat, TikTok, Pinterest)

  3. Choose how you want to build your Product Set:

    • Option A: Paste VINs (target exact vehicles)

    • Option B: Use performance filters (impressions, spend, clicks, CTR, leads, or views)

  4. Add standard filters to tighten the set (examples: Aged 45+ Days, Under $25K, Trucks/SUVs, New/Used/Certified)

  5. Click Create Vehicle Set save it with a clear name (example: “Aged 45+ Days – Under $35K”)

Pro tip: Start with 3 “starter sets” for every rooftop:

  • Aged inventory

  • Price band (example: Under $25K / Under $35K)

  • New arrivals (last 7–14 days)

Where to Find “VINFlow” (Product Sets) in BuyerBridge

VINFlow lives directly inside the BuyerBridge app under the Inventory tab.

  1. Log in to BuyerBridge

  2. From the left menu, click Inventory

  3. Click Product Sets

What you’ll see after clicking Product Sets

When you open Inventory → Product Sets, you’ll land on the VINFlow dashboard where all vehicles are shown by default.

On this page, you’ll typically see:

  • Select Advertising Platforms (Google, Meta, Snapchat, TikTok, Pinterest)

  • Vehicle Filters (to narrow down the exact VINs you want)

  • A grid of vehicles (your current results)

  • A Create Vehicle Set button (this saves your filtered selection as a Product Set)

Important: Before you create your first Product Set, start by choosing your advertising platform(s) and applying filters—otherwise you may accidentally create a set that includes everything.

How to Create a Your First Product Set

Once you’re on the Product Sets page, you’ll see all vehicles by default. Your goal is to narrow that list and save it as your first Product Set.

Here’s the quick flow:

  1. Select your advertising platform(s) (Google, Meta, Snapchat, TikTok, Pinterest)

  2. Build the set using Paste VINs or Ads Performance filters

  3. Refine with standard vehicle filters (SUV/Truck, New/Used/Certified, price, days on lot, etc.)

  4. Click Create Vehicle Set and save it with a clear name

Pro tip: Don’t save a set with “all vehicles” unless you truly mean it. Start with something focused like Aged Inventory or a Price Band.

Starter Product Sets (steal these)

If you’re not sure what to build first, start with these 3 sets:

  1. Aged Inventory (example: 45+ Days on Lot)

  2. Price Band (example: Under $25K / Under $35K)

  3. New Arrivals (example: last 7–14 days)

Optional VIN Spend Lock (max spend per VIN)

VIN Spend Lock is an optional feature that lets you set a max spend per VIN inside a Product Set.

Why use it: It helps prevent spend from piling onto only a few VINs and can improve coverage across the set.

Example: Set a cap like $14 per VIN when you want tighter guardrails.

Best Practices (recommended set size + budget)

VINFlow works best when you group similar vehicles together because that matches how people shop (by body style, price, model, etc.).

    Recommended starting point:

    • Build Product Sets with 15+ vehicles (smaller sets limit delivery)

    • Group by Model Line, Body Style, Days on Lot, Price Range, or Model Year

    • Plan for at least $15/day per VINFlow campaign for best results
